Dr. Jeffrey Greenberg

Dr. Jeﬀrey Greenberg is the owner of Sweet Spot Dental and has spent over 10 years of his career helping guide patients on their journey to a healthy smile. His mix of genuine empathy, realistic expectations and humor creates a judgment-free atmosphere where his patients have been able to breathe a sigh of relief. Utilizing his psychology background, Dr. Greenberg incorporates unique skills and techniques that aid even the most anxious dental patient.

Dr. Greenberg is a Long Island native and proud graduate of the State University of New York-Albany. A 2012 graduate from Tufts School of Dental Medicine, he now serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Tufts School of Dental Medicine, teaching critical communication skills to dentists in training. Dr. Greenberg is also a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society, American Dental Association and the New England Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Greenberg comes from a family with more than 20 relatives in the dental ﬁeld. While he often jokes that his family’s career choices are proof that they have “no originality,” he has always been proud of their years of service. Aside from dentistry, Dr. Greenberg is also a huge foodie. He loves to cook and feed as many people as possible. Feel free to share recipes-or food-with him.

Dr. Greenberg spends his time trying new recipes at home in Dorchester with his husband, Fred, and their adorable Basset Hound, Lyla.

Joanne Cruz – Financial Coordinator

Joanne Cruz serves as our wonderful Administrative Assistant. She provides excellent customer service to every patient that comes through our doors. Here’s what she has to say about working here:

“I LOVE being a part of the Sweet Spot Dental team! I consider myself lucky just to work with this amazing team. I mean, who doesn’t love Dr. Greenberg? He is someone who can make you want to believe in yourself more. I am very grateful to be working with people who are very patient and supportive. Joanne’s pre-pandemic life was filled with volunteering, organizing outreach programs for street children in her hometown, and singing at weddings. Since the pandemic, this Philippines native has stepped up her cooking game and even gotten praise from her mom for her amazing Adobo, a native Filipino dish. Joanne also has two dogs, three parrots, a sugar glider, and a younger brother. “So I basically live in a zoo,” she jokes.

Ashley Benjamin – Certified Dental Assistant

Originally from Georgia, Ashley moved to Boston to support a family member and see what city life has to offer. Throughout the years of odd jobs in retail and working as a server, she always felt the desire to have more under her profession belt. Knowing that she always achieves anything she puts her mind to, 1 year ago she arrived at Lincoln Tech to learn how to be a Certified Dental Assistant and proved that no matter her grades in High School, she excelled in the program and shocked even herself with how much she can achieve.

Ashley is known for her smile that lights up a room, her bubbly personality and her ability to make someone’s day. As her aunt Chandra always said – her personality will get her far, and it truly has.

“I’m more than grateful and honored to be working for Dr. Greenberg, this is the next step to succeed and thrive and he has opened that door, and I’m so happy.”

Melissa Perry – Registered Dental Hygienist

Melissa serves us as our rockstar Dental Hygienist. Originally from Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Melissa used to work as a waitress while attending college and decided to pursue dental hygiene after feeling inspired by her grandmother who was a dental hygienist in the area she grew up in.

While attending Community College of Rhode Island, she enjoyed very challenging courses and became a tutor after finishing them. Through teaching and getting to talk to a large variety of people, this only affirmed that dental hygiene was the right profession for her.

When not focusing on oral hygiene, Melissa’s interests include: exploring Cambridge, tennis, running and spending time with her labradoodle Lilly.

Haley Jepson – Patient Care Coordinator

As Patient Care Coordinator, Haley strives to ensure that all patients are helped correctly, quickly, and kindly. If anyone has questions or concerns about anything, Haley wants to make sure that those patients get the attention that they need.

Haley has worked as a dental office administrator for only 3 years but has thoroughly enjoyed the experience so far! What started as just a way to pay the bills has now become an invested interest in dental administration and organization.

Haley has lived in Massachusetts almost their whole life and even got their Illustration degree from MassArt in Boston. In their down time, Haley likes to rock climb with their friends or play video games competitively against their partner. They also like to take pictures of their cat Bella who is rumored to be a vampire due to her teeth being elongated.

Gladies Marzo – Insurance Coordinator

Prior to joining the Sweet Spot Dental Team, Gladies worked as a customer service representative for a dental insurance company. She believes dentistry is both a challenging and fulfilling field where you can meet all different kinds of people and can have a positive impact on their lives.

Gladies grew up on the island of Mindoro which is surrounded by beautiful beaches and mountains like the picturesque White Beach in Puerto Galera and Mt. Halcon. When she isn’t on hold with dental insurance companies she likes to go to the beach and explore new places with her close friends.

Tomoko Gerbino – Registered Dental Hygienist

She/Her

As one of our Registered Dental Hygienists, Tomoko has 10 years of combined experience in administrative roles, dental assisting, and in dental hygiene. She developed an early passion for the dental field when she served as a volunteer for a U.S military dental clinic in Okinawa, Japan. She has always been interested in understanding the world beyond our individual experiences which led her to graduate with a B.A at San Diego State University, where she focused her studies on human behavior, specifically how people interact and behave with each other. This all led to Dental Hygiene School in California at Concorde College and receiving her dental hygiene degree in 2018.

Tomoko believes that oral health plays a fundamental role in a person’s overall health and quality of life. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is the opportunity to develop strong relationships with our patients. She understands that many individuals may experience anxiety or fear when visiting the dentist and she strives to create a warm and welcoming environment that eases their concerns.

The genuine care and concern for our patients’ well-being is evident in everything we do. I’m proud to be a part of a team where I can continuously learn and grow while making a meaningful impact on our patient’s oral health.”

Tomoko is a fellow foodie and an oat-milk latte and dirty chai addict. She enjoys traveling to learn about and experience new cultures. During her downtime, she enjoys taking her film camera and exploring while photographing new places with her husband, Jacob, and their Goldendoodle, Mochi.

Cynthia Yang – Dental Assistant

New to the dental field, Cynthia has been a licensed esthetician for two years! She graduated from Catherine Hinds Institute in the masters program and absolutely loved it. She decided that although she loves working in the beauty industry, she wanted to make a career change and become a dental assistant.

“The dental field is definitely challenging but rewarding! Dental health is important and I’m glad I’m part of the dental field as I learn something new everyday. I love working at Sweet Spot Dental! Everyone here is so kind and supportive of me. I am extremely grateful to be working for Dr.Greenberg and I know I will learn and grow under his guidance.”

Cynthia is a cat lover and has one cat named Bruce. She loves video games, watching movies, going to the beach, journaling, painting, and trying out new cuisines and learning ukelele.
